Eset Security Review

For the money ESET’s suite is among of the best. Its malware detection rate is close to perfect and the suite offers an impressive array of additional features in a small footprint. The premium version comes with parental controls, a secure web browser, and a password manager as well as the Android version comes with an anti-theft feature that can help you locate your missing phone. The features to protect your network include a firewall as well as the option to scan home devices for vulnerabilities, are also fantastic.

SysInspector is an outstanding tool. It takes a snapshot and highlights important Registry entries and running processes. It’s not for novices however, if you’re used to more advanced task managers such as those in the Sysinternals process Explorer, you’ll be at in the comfort of your own home.

Scheduling scans on demand is another wonderful feature. This is a great alternative to real-time security, and it’s simple and quick to use. It’s a shame that ESET does not include this in its list of other scheduling tasks and its UI makes it a bit harder to find than its rivals.

Other notable features include a robust form filler for online banking, an excellent spam filter that has earned the best scores in our tests, as well as a efficient password manager that is simple to use. The password manager is only available in the premium version, and requires an ESET account, but it works just as well as the standalone solutions I’ve tried.
